And the winner is.......................

So you guys know the cake competition was Saturday! For those of you who don't know check out this previous post!! Anyway, I had a great time preparing for it and I truly enjoyed all the yummy test cakes (did nothing for my diet)! My competition was stiff, but we pulled it out! YAAAAYYYY! We Won!!!! So, I promised a picture and here ya go!

Acceptance Speech

First I'd like to thank God. Without him, nothing is possible. I'd like to thank all the adoring fans. I'd like to thank my manager and producer. I'd like to thank the Fresh Market and Trader Joes. The wonderful people at Regency Retirement Home. Each of my taste testers....especially those with feedback. Ghirardelli for that FINE chocolate, all the strangers who shared there "secrets," and to Brody Joseph who always inspires & will forever have HOMEMADE cupcakes after school instead of the box (such a huge difference). To that little girl who has a dream of baking and doesn't know where to start..... This ones for you!

smooches

p.s. I'm really kidding with the speech...

BBBEEEEEYYYYYYOOOOOOONNNNNCCCEEE!

Every now and again special things happen in a girls life... She gets her menstrual cycle, she has her first date, prom night, wedding day..... and she sees Beyonce in concert!!!

Needless to say.... I had a GREAT weekend!!!

Happy Reading!

Hi Butterflies,

I just had to share this "out of the box" (if you will) parenting book I completed not too long ago. It was truly entertaining and unlike any other (of the millions) parenting books I've come across. Stephanie has such a colorful insight on parenthood which makes for an awesome read. I'll warn you.... this book is not for those with a small or limited sense of humor.... You can pick it up at your local bookstore or Amazon.com is offering a discount right now!

Parks are for Picnics...

Brody Joseph was so happy for the opportunity to put his teeth to work. Don't fret..... it was organic and seedless...

One with nature.... in mid sentence of course!

Early Stages of a Performer

Please witness the face of a little bumble bee who is somehow under the impression it is appropriate to interrupt the ENTIRE Panera Bread with his constant buzzzzzz! The SAHM's got a kick out of it! For the first time I noticed him truly eating the attention up!!! I don't want to hear any complaints from BroJo when I submit his name for every church program/talent show in town!

Lesson Taught by an Eight Month Old

Each morning Brody Joseph announces he is awake by singing a song. When I enter his nursery he lights up and flashes the biggest two teeth grin ever!! It’s as if he’s saying, “Good Morning, world!” Without a care in the world he smiles and continues his song. Brody Joseph’s life has just begun and he’s soooo excited about it. Each day is a blessing from God. I want to be more like Brody.... Let's all strive to be like Brody. Instead of waking up grumpy and full of complaints, let's begin our day with a song in our hearts and a smile on our face. Let's appreciate each day because each day is a fabulous gift ready to be unwrapped. Thanks BroJo, for yet another lesson taught!

Brody Joseph biting that top lip..... ready for the next tooth!

P.S. The cake-off has been postponed to June 27, 2009. Another week for the competition to practice.....

Farmer Joseph!

Happy Monday,
Hope you all had a wonderful, WONDERFUL weekend! It's June!!!! Farmer Joe and I enjoyed the fresh produce at the farmers' market and picked strawberries this past weekend...... he had a blast! Although, he didn't quite get the concept and continuously squished the berries between his little fingers....... such a funny little guy!
